At Winder Joinery, customer satisfaction is our top priority. We take great pride in our reputation, both with new customers and those who have been loyal to us for many years.
WARRANTY ON WOOD PRODUCTS
Our 2 year warranty only applies to gates & doors sold with full protection or limited protection and by following all directions in our “Making sure your product is protected” document which is available on our website and provided with your purchase. This warranty covers against swelling, moulding, and rotting over time.
The "Full Protection" option includes the application of Sikkens Cetol HLS to the gate before shipping, with additional tins of colour tinted Sikkens base and top coats included for the customer to apply. The "Limited Protection" option includes the application of Sikkens Cetol HLS to the gate before shipping, but no additional top coats are included and the gate will appear natural.
If a customer chooses "No Protection - Natural" and does not treat the wooden gate or door properly, they may experience issues such as wood rot, mould, swelling, and warping. Therefore, it is crucial that customers understand the importance of proper treatment and maintenance of their wooden gate or door if they choose this option. Winder Joinery is not responsible for any damage caused by improper treatment or maintenance of the product by the customer when using any treatment not provided by us.
The 2-year workmanship guarantee on our wooden gates also covers the integrity of the joints. This means that if any issues occur with the joints, you can be confident that you are covered under the guarantee. However, it is important to note that this guarantee does not cover the paint or treatment finish on the wooden gates, even if Winder Joinery applied the basecoat, once the product has left our workshop.
ANY ALTERATION DENOTES ACCEPTANCE
Additionally, it's important to understand that any alteration made to the product, including but not limited to cutting, fitting, or treatment, denotes acceptance of the product and its condition. This means that by making any changes to the product, the customer is accepting the product as it is, and any faults or defects found after the alteration will not be covered under warranty or eligible for replacement or refund. It is essential to thoroughly inspect the product before making any changes to ensure that it meets your expectations and standards. REPORTING A PROBLEM
In summary, it is important to thoroughly inspect the product before making any alterations or exposing it to the elements. Any issues should be reported to us within a reasonable timeframe and with photos. Our warranty covers manufacturing faults, but not damage caused by improper treatment or installation. We will do our best to address any issues and provide a replacement or refund if possible, but we cannot compensate for wasted labour charges or time.
ARRANGING FITTING
It is important to note that arranging tradesmen before receiving and fully inspecting the goods can lead to wasted labour charges if there are any issues with the delivery or the product is damaged. To avoid this, it is best to wait until the goods have been received and thoroughly inspected before arranging any tradesmen. Additionally, it is important to keep in mind that some faults or issues may not be immediately noticeable and may only be detected during installation. Therefore, it is important to make provision for this possibility and understand that in such cases, we will not be able to compensate for any wasted labour costs.
RETURNS
The goods will have to be in resalable condition, including undamaged packaging and in the same condition as when they were received. If the goods are being returned because they are faulty or not as described, then we will refund the initial cost of the items, including the original outgoing postage charge. If the goods are being returned for any other reason, then we will only refund the initial cost of the items and the customer will be responsible for the return carriage costs. Please note that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the goods are properly packaged and protected during transit to prevent damage. If you want to return your unwanted goods, you must inform us within 14 days of receiving them and obtain a return authorization before shipping the goods back to us.
